ERIN’s lead vocalist, Bernadette Lannen, has been invited to work with two of the Hunter’s finest folk musicians for an exciting and eclectic performance on Saturday, April 5, 7.30pm at the Wesley Fellowship Hall (opposite the Exchange Hotel on Beaumont St, Hamilton).
Talented multi-instrumentalists, singers and songwriters, KENT DANIEL (Guitar, Bouzouki, Mandolin & Voice) and LARRY HUGHES (Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Fiddle & Voice) team up again for the Newcastle and Hunter Valley Folk Club, following an acclaimed performance last year. With musical loves spanning Planxty, Altan, The Kingston Trio and The Bothy Band as well as Dylan, Dido and Joni Mitchell to name but a few, these local lads have dedicated their lives to their passion for “music that has something to say”.
Having recently secured a spot at this year’s St Alban’s Folk Festival, Kent and Larry are sure to treat their audience to a stunning mix of traditional and original offerings - plus a few surprises to boot!
Bernadette (Vocals and Bodhran) is excited and inspired to be thrown into the mix and will offer listeners new renditions of timeless folk tunes as well as some more contemporary repertoire. You might also recognise fresh and creative re-workings of some of your ERIN favourites…
The KLB trio -
- they need a name!! - will be supported on the night by the all-female acappella ensemble AMORÉ GRANDÉ.
Tickets are $14 Adults, $12 Concession and $10 Club Members. For further information contact Elaine on (02) 4943 1552 or Bilbo 0410 584 533 or (02) 4958 4033. Please visit the Folk Club’s website http://www.newcastlehuntervalleyfolkclub.org.au/

Yes, ERIN has finished her second release!! Finally, the band has got herself into the studio again - but this time as the popular acoustic trio - and recorded “Let’s Toss This Salad”, a collection of traditional folk tunes, songs and jazz items on a warm and welcoming new album. The February CD Launch at Maitland’s HVB was a great night and huge success. We also had an exciting time promoting it on our recent Victorian tour and are proud to report that it sold exceptionally well, hand-in-hand with our original, self-titled release.
We’re currently planning on a “second CD launch” in Newcastle and will keep you posted. In the meantime, you can catch the ERIN TRIO again at the HVB on the last Sunday of each month from 6 to 9 PM. See the gig guide for more details. (If you’re not already on our mailing list, send us an email via this website and request the same!).
CDs are available from gigs and will soon be available on-line. We are also looking into procuring sales at a couple of independent local venues.
The new album by the Erin Trio, titled “Let’s Toss This Salad” is nearing completion. The audio was finalised at Benchmark Mastering with Don Bartley on the 8th of February.
The album will be launched at the Hunter Valley Brewery on Sunday the 24th of February 2008.

Erin’s long awaited second album is currently in production. The recording process has been finished and the tracks have been mastered. The cover art is being finalised and all seems to be on track for the album launch which will be held at the Hunter Valley Brewery on the 24th of February.
The album features 13 songs recorded by the trio. We aimed to replicate the live sound that the trio produces during a gig. As a result the tracks have a raw acoustic feel.

Erin created a profile on the hugely popular MySpace.com website. It featured several of our songs, upcoming gig dates and other information about the band. The profile was located at myspace.com/erinirishband but in December 2007 the account was deleted without warning or explanation.
As we now realise the tenuous nature of such MySpace profiles, we will be maintaining this website (ie www.erin.net.au) with information about upcoming gigs etc as the primary source of information about the band.
Erin were featured on the front page of the Maitland Mercury entertainment liftout on Thursday the 15th of March 2007. The article was promoting the St Patricks Day gig on the evening of the 17th of March at the Hunter Valley Brewery.
